Ethiopia Limu Seka

from $24.95

Our importer from Artisan, Ruth Ann, arrived in Limu Seka Atnago in 2024 and found herself surrounded by women who know coffee the way a river knows its banks. The Atnago women’s group was formed in 2014 under the care of Fahem Coffee Plantation, but their roots run much deeper than any official founding date.

Fahem’s story begins long before export contracts and shipping routes. Mohammed Lalo and Mohammed Muzeyin once traded in second-hand clothes, moving through local markets in the late ’90s before coffee called their names. They became pickers, then stewards, and in 2006 claimed a home of their own—a plantation in the lush hills of Oromia’s Limu region. By 2013, the harvest had grown confident enough to travel, carrying Limu’s sweetness far beyond Ethiopia.

Together, Fahem and the women of Atnago organized, forming a supplier group bound by trust, shared work, and morning rituals among the trees. The women farm exclusively for Fahem, many with more than thirty harvests behind them, their hands fluent in the language of ripe cherries and patience. This coffee is the sound of decades passing, of knowledge passed down, of women who have been here all along—waiting for the world to taste what they’ve always known.

In the cup we taste lots of citrus with notes of melon and a chocolate body on the finish. This coffee won’t be around long so be sure to try it today!
